"I believe that love that is true and real creates a respite from death. All cowardice comes from not loving or not loving well, which is the same thing." – Midnight in Paris
Aidan Guynes is a director/writer/filmmaker based in Philadelphia. Aidan grew up in Bandar Lampung, Indonesia until he was nine years old, at which point his family relocated to the United States where he has lived since.
He began making films in early high school, teaching himself techniques and developing a style. Since then, he has earned a BFA degree in Film & Media Arts with a directing concentration at Temple University and has committed to a career in film work. While he believes film holds entertainment value, he is most concerned with its function to bring new perspective. Consequently, he strives to capture characters and situations that are real, gritty, complex, and inspired from life experiences. Redemptive stories, born from bleak circumstance, are the most relevant, important, and impactful to him.
Aidan is a part of a local Philadelphia production company Philamedia, along with being lead filmmaker at Recovery Spark to provide creative eating disorder recovery films. Contact him below for inquiries.
